Here comes the New Year... is bourbon still your thing?

For the past few years, the trend has been flavored whiskeys (for the non-whiskey drinkers) and bourbon for the whiskey drinkers. Distilleries were struggling to keep up with the demand and there was even speculation of a bourbon shortage in our future.

So what about you? Are you still a bourbon fan or have you moved on to a new drinking trend? (I hear cannabis-infused red wines are coming to California.)

Even though I don't post as often as I used to, and lately my Twitter feed has been more political than whiskey-related, I still find myself to be an ardent bourbon and rye whiskey fan. My whiskey cabinet is overflowing this time of year as my generous friends remember how easy I am to shop for.

Whiskey is an incredibly rewarding hobby and I am thrilled when I get to try something new or discover a new distillery that I want to visit.

Thanks to everyone that played it safe this year and just picked up a bottle.

Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. And here's to an incredible 2019.

2018, you have a lot to apologize for. Get the hell out of here.
